Fall Fling

This weekend we attended the Fall Fling in Wise. Everyone had a great time, we ate fried oreos, Taylor and Peyton played the games and rode the firetruck, Aaron and I were more excited about looking at all the crafts on display. Only Aaron's motive was to find the one person that was selling movies, I did however find some cute crafts that have a new home at my house! Here are some pics of all of the happy faces, Aaron's pic made him look like he was in pain so I spared him this time.

Gator Game

Oh boy what a Saturday!! First we were getting soaked by all the rain at every turn and as you know this was the BIG GAME Saturday so rain was not good. Allen and I drove a little more than three hours to watch the Florida Gators crush the Kentucky Wildcats and they did! YAY! First the good stuff: We drove in a down pour the whole way to Lexington and about 10 minutes before the got to the football stadium the clouds disappeared and there was no rain the rest of the night. Second, parking was only 2 dollars and for all you exercise pushers I walked 1.5 miles one way to the stadium and another 1.5 on the way back. :) Lastly, this was my first college football game and I really enjoyed it, the best part was sitting with the Kentucky fans in my Florida attire and screaming the whole night, that was great!

The not so great part: My favorite football player in the whole world got hurt, not some silly pulled hamstring but a severe concussion that made him vomit on the sidelines. This is not good for a man nicknamed Superman! The worst part was I have watched him a hundred times on television and he tackles guys twice his size (that's unheard of for a quarterback for all the none football readers) and he got hurt at the one game I attended. Well here are some pics I took to for everyone to appreciate the view I had.

Toes.........

No this is not the movie premiere poster for "Where's My Hairy Toe!", it's just my new nail job to root for the Gators this weekend!! Yea, go Gators.

Words of Wisdom....

Okay you know the weight of the world must show on your face when your seven year old daughter says this, "Mom I know we are mean sometimes but we still care". This is just one of the many reasons I love her, what seven year old thinks like that?

On a lighter side her six year old brother was having his soccer picture taken and the photographer said okay now just relax and he lays his head on the ball and closes his eyes like he could just take a nap while the other 300 people waiting in line watched on in the merciless heat yesterday evening.

It's funny how the same gene pool so obviously made a distinct split in the creation of these two children.

Happy Birthday Aaron!!!!!!!!

One of my favs!!
Aaron turns 20 today!!! !

The Streak!!

This is Taylor trying to go incognito in the dryer so her dad won't find out she had a highlight put in her hair. We discussed the purple and red but luckily mom had the final say and the color is caramel and in a discreet location in the back underneath her naturally beautiful hair. You can see it when she wears a ponytail which is her style of choice. Good lord what comes next......?

Soccer Time!!!

I have important news to report, Taylor has scored her first goal in soccer!!!! She was so excited we could hear her screaming from the other end of the field! It was great Peyton ran up to her and gave her a big hug and Allen yelled so much that he lost his voice. Peyton was also a hero by doing his claim to fame "goalie" role. He kept several balls out of the goal which wasn't easy when your team has six players and the other team has 8!! The score was 4-4, a great accomplishment for the Purple People, the kids got to pick the name for their team and the jersey's are purple. We battle on this Saturday, wish them good luck!

Sorry I don't have any recent pics Allen forgot my camera at home!

Tribute to Granny Ruby!

This weekend I stayed all night with my granny, it was great. It always brings back memories of when I was growing up because this was the only grandparent I've ever known. I remeber the fun we use to have her chasing me around the house and always fixing me macaroni and cheese when I got home from school and she was no spring chicken then at 68 years old. She's now 89 years old and will be 90 in March and I get to do those things in reverse even chasing her around the house when we I'm trying to get her to do something she doesn't want to do!! I just wanted to write a little tribute to her because we have had a lot of illness in our family lately and it makes you think about the time you have with those you love.

Bad Days....

Before After bible robbery

I know we all have bad days but the next time you are aggravated at the world look at this picture and imagine what kind of bad day Aaron was having! For those of you who know me well you know I had to pick him up from school one day and this was what he looked like. This bad day was thanks to a library book that belonged to someone else and Aaron couldn't have it. Aaron's solution was to steal Chris's bible out of the bathroom at work! (Sorry Chris)

Things that make you feel good....

Here are a few of the things that make me feel good.

1. Peyton smiling first thing in the morning.
2. Aaron laying his head on my shoulder and saying " You love me Miss Terry."
3. Watching Taylor take Peyton's hand and walk him the last twenty feet to the school doors even though it's the third week of school.
4. Watching Taylor think she can accomplish anything she wants to do not matter how outlandish.
5. Knowing that if I die tommorrow I will have at least changed the life of one person in this crazy world.
6. Cooking something new and not in a hurry.
7. Wrapping up in a blanket with hot chocolate and a book when it first snows.
8. Getting paid even though it should be more. (It can't all be sappy, I have to have some materialistic items in life.)
9. Knowing Allen loves our children unconditionally and will be a great dad no matter what.
10. Realizing all the struggles my mom went through as a single parent made me a stronger person and a better role model for my kids.

Sleepover!!

Taylor and Peyton had a sleepover this weekend with Cassidy, they were so good! They had a great time and before I had to break out paint brushes and bad attitudes to begin the remodel of the bathroom I got to hang out and be laid back for the night. That is going to be one of my goals for the new year: Learn to relax and enjoy the time you have!

School again....

Well the official school year had started and everything seems to be going great so far. Taylor and Peyton both love their class and teachers and Aaron has already got to lay out of school one day for feeling under the weather. It's amazing how time flies by so fast, I can remember crying my eyes out when I left Taylor on the first day of Kindergarten and now I feel like an old pro with emphsis on the "old" part. The only part we all dread this year is finding a parking place!

This is being TIRED!

This what happened to my children after spending the day with Aunt Lindsey at the pool! Thanks Aunt Lindsey :)

The Lottery

We had a major discussion at my house last night about winning the lottery. At Taylor's insistence we bought 3 lottery tickets, one for each child, to try to win 84 million dollars! On the way home from the store I asked Taylor and Peyton what they would buy if they had that much money. Taylor,of course, was the first to chime in about all the things she would buy including a pet store, stock in Wal-Mart, etc. she also let me know what she would buy for the people she didn't like. She was sharing the wealth by getting them a rocket so she could send them to the moon and also paying for someone to give them a "wedgie". Yes this is a proud parent moment! Peyton on the other hand was buying cars and typical boy stuff and then he said he would also get a bunch of quarters so he could donate to the kids that have cancer. This was a tear jerker! Of course we always donate to the machines that have the funny swirly slides for the coins and the proceeds go to St. Judes or some other children's charity. If there is one things I hope my kids learn in life it's to always help those who are less fortunate than they are. In case your wondering we decided Aaron would probably buy Blockbuster with his lottery money. I am sorry to report that I am at work today so we did not hit the jackpot.

Child Development

Sometimes I think we are kidding ourselves studying books about child development for hours, doing endless observations to get some unforseen insight into why a child will randomly throw a chair or knock another child down. HA, my name will someday be mentioned with Ericsson and Freud, here's my theory: during the development of a child there is a correlation of brain pattern activity that is a direct match of people with Bipolar Disorder. This does explain why one minute you can have a sweet child that is lovable and beautiful and the next minute you have satan's spawn. Think about it?!?!?!?!?!

I want to introduce everyone to the 3 suns that my Earth revolves around.
This is Aaron, my oldest son and for everyone that knows me will realize that I spent the better part of one whole day trying to capture a picture where all body parts are where they should be and he was looking and smiling at the camera! NOT EASY!

The body building twins are Peyton and Taylor, otherwise known as miniatures of their mother and father. Peyton is going into 1st grade this year and he is totally a mommy's boy. Taylor is going into 2nd grade and is little Miss Independent. She is the only child I know that will leave her parents and travel to another country with her grandparents before she started Kindergarten and never ask once when she was going back home.

Getting Started....

I want to dedicate this blog to Kim Austin who has reminded me everday for the last six months that I needed to start a blog site or she would start one for me, so this is for you Kimbo.
